Push for your personal best with 7mm Omni-Lite Christmas Tree Spikes — ultra-light replacement spikes made from a ceramic composite that’s 66% lighter than standard steel. Designed for use on synthetic tracks, these spikes are a go-to choice for athletes seeking top-tier performance with a psychological boost come race day.

Popular across sprints, hurdles, middle-distance events (up to 1500m), and field disciplines like long jump, triple jump, high jump, and javelin, the Christmas Tree or Compression Tier design features tiered steps rather than a sharp tip. This compresses the track surface rather than piercing it, helping to reduce resistance and potentially return more energy with each stride.

Favoured by many elite sprinters and middle-distance runners, Omni-Lite Spikes are perfect for big competitions where every detail counts. However, because they’re made from a softer ceramic composite, they wear more quickly than quenched and tempered steel spikes—so they’re best saved for competition rather than training.

If you need greater durability for high-volume use, consider our steel Christmas Tree Spikes or Pyramid Spikes 6mm as an alternative.

  • Lightweight ceramic composite (66% lighter than steel)
  • Best for competition on synthetic tracks
  • 7mm compression-style design for sprints, middle distance & field events
  • Compatible with Nike, Adidas, Asics, Puma, New Balance & more
  • Easily replaceable with a standard spike key
  • 12-pack for $13.99
  • Available in gold, black and silver
  • Free shipping via Australia Post
  • Express Post upgrade available for $9.99

Not suitable for long-distance or steeplechase events—those athletes usually prefer Pyramid Spikes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will these spikes fit my shoes?

All replacement spikes sold on Spikes.au have a universal thread used in all modern athletics spike shoes. That means they will fit all spike shoes from major brands including Nike, Adidas, ASICS, Puma, New Balance, On and Saucony.

If your shoes originally came with removable metal spikes, these replacements will fit.

What spike length should I choose?

For most athletes competing on synthetic athletics tracks, 6mm spikes are the standard and are accepted at almost all venues.

For other surfaces:
9mm spikes are commonly used for cross country
12mm spikes are typically used for grass surfaces or very soft ground

If you're unsure, complete our >3-question Spike Recommendation Quiz for personalised advice.

Do I need a spike key?

Yes. A spike key (also called a spike wrench) is used to remove old spikes and securely tighten new ones into your shoes.

Most spike shoes include a spike key when purchased, but they can easily be lost over time.

If you don’t already have one, we recommend adding a spike key to your order so you can quickly and easily install your new spikes.

How long will it take for spikes to arrive?

We ship every business day from Melbourne.

Express delivery via Australia Post typically arrives within 2–3 business days, depending on your location.

Regular delivery (untracked) usually takes around 5–7 business days.

If you need spikes urgently for a race or competition, we recommend selecting Express Delivery at checkout.

I need spikes this weekend. Can I pick them up from you?

Spikes.au operates exclusively online, so we’re unable to offer in-person pickup. All orders are shipped via post.

If you need spikes urgently, some specialist running stores in Australia stock selected Spikes.au products. Contact us and we can provide a list of current stockists who may be able to help.
