Our 9mm Jumps Spikes are purpose-built replacement spikes for field event athletes—most notably high jumpers—competing on synthetic tracks. This spike style is only able to be used with shoes that feature recessed spike wells, which are common in field event-specific models.

Unlike conical designs like Pyramid Spikes, these spikes feature a flat tip that increases the surface area in contact with the track. This allows for greater compression of the track surface underfoot, providing a more stable and reactive base during explosive take-off phases—ideal for high jump, and also useful for long jump, triple jump, and javelin.

While they are known as the go-to spike for high jumpers, these 9mm track spikes are also suitable for other field events where deeper track engagement and force absorption are key.

Crafted from quenched and tempered steel, our replacement spikes are designed for strength and durability across a full season of use. When the tips begin to wear down, replacement is quick and easy using a standard spike key.

  • Pack of 12 spikes for $13.99 or Pack of 22 for $16.99 (because we know and care that high jumpers and javelin throwers often have 11 spikes per shoe)
  • Designed for field events on synthetic tracks
  • Ideal for high jump, long jump, triple jump & javelin
  • Best used with shoes featuring recessed spike wells
  • Made from high-strength steel for long-lasting performance
  • Compatible with Nike, Adidas, Asics, Puma, New Balance and more

Frequently Asked Questions

Will these spikes fit my shoes?

All replacement spikes sold on Spikes.au have a universal thread used in all modern athletics spike shoes. That means they will fit all spike shoes from major brands including Nike, Adidas, ASICS, Puma, New Balance, On and Saucony.

If your shoes originally came with removable metal spikes, these replacements will fit.

What spike length should I choose?

For most athletes competing on synthetic athletics tracks, 6mm spikes are the standard and are accepted at almost all venues.

For other surfaces:
• 9mm spikes are commonly used for cross country
• 12mm spikes are typically used for grass surfaces or very soft ground

If you're unsure, complete our >3-question Spike Recommendation Quiz for personalised advice.

Do I need a spike key?

Yes. A spike key (also called a spike wrench) is used to remove old spikes and securely tighten new ones into your shoes.

Most spike shoes include a spike key when purchased, but they can easily be lost over time.

If you don’t already have one, we recommend adding a spike key to your order so you can quickly and easily install your new spikes.

How long will it take for spikes to arrive?

We ship every business day from Melbourne.

Express delivery via Australia Post typically arrives within 2–3 business days, depending on your location.

Regular delivery (untracked) usually takes around 5–7 business days.

If you need spikes urgently for a race or competition, we recommend selecting Express Delivery at checkout.

I need spikes this weekend. Can I pick them up from you?

Spikes.au operates exclusively online, so we’re unable to offer in-person pickup. All orders are shipped via post.

If you need spikes urgently, some specialist running stores in Australia stock selected Spikes.au products. Contact us and we can provide a list of current stockists who may be able to help.
